Telehealth consultations mean our clients do not need to physically travel to the consultation location, and therefore can access specialised care which may not otherwise be easily available to them.
How do Telehealth appointments work?
Lifestyle PeriMenopause’s Telehealth service is available Australia-wide. We believe everyone should be able to access safe, high level, effective care to support their lifestyle goals during perimenopause. Please note – our base is in Brisbane, so appointments will be scheduled according to Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST).
We encourage you to review and follow the step-by-step instructions to book your appointment with us.
Prior: Once you book an appointment with us, we will send you a link to complete a dietary assessment. This will let you share what and how you eat using industry standard surveys. This provides us with direction for your consult as well as a baseline against which we will measure your changes.
You will also be sent the Lifestyle PeriMenopause ‘My Goals and Plans‘ worksheet to start to complete before your session.
During: Based on your goals, questions, and dietary assessment, we will develop an individualised plan with you. This will involve tailoring best practice nutrition guidelines to your personal circumstances and preferences to optimise your weight and cardiometabolic health through dietary and lifestyle change. This will run for 45 minutes. You will be sent our comprehensive summary resources including, Nutrition Foundations and Nutrition Balance for Perimenopause following the session.
ONLINE, SELF-PACED PROGRAM $54 (and $22)
Lifestyle PeriMenopause’s online, self-paced programs are designed and delivered to achieve similar outcomes to individual appointments.
Participants will be encouraged and guided to assess their own health habits against recommendations, participate in activities around health goals for optimal nutrition and how to adapt their routines to achieve them. Resources are provided to supplement activities and information. Enrol here.
We also offer a ‘bite sized’ program of ‘nutrition essentials’; an entree to the full program. Enrol here.
REVIEW APPOINTMENTS
Women have told us they appreciate the support and accountability of regular contact with us to support their lifestyle changes.
Following a group or individual appointment you have the opportunity to book a review (15 minutes, $70) or long review (30 minutes, $90).
You can make an appointment with a Lifestyle PeriMenopause dietitian without a referral from a GP or specialist. If you have private health insurance, some of your appointment costs may be covered depending on your level of cover – we recommend you check with your insurer. Following payment for your telehealth appointment we will provide you with a receipt to self-claim from them.
To check what you will be required to pay, provide your insurer with the consultation cost and the HICAPS item number below to find out how much you will be required to pay.
HICAPS item number:
Dr Shelley Wilkinson of Lifestyle PeriMenopause is a Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician. She is able to receive referrals from GPs to see people with diagnosed eating disorders. As we operate fully via telehealth the item number is 93074.
Your GP can assess your eligibility for an Eating Disorder Plan (EDP) or Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDMP). These Medicare plans allow for a rebate (e.g., reduced out-of-pocket costs) for visits to an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD).
With an EDP, clients are eligible to access 20 subsidised dietetic sessions for 12 months from the start date of the plan, and a CDMP allows a client to access up to 5 subsidised dietetic sessions in a calendar year.
As of 2025, the Medicare Rebate is $60.35.
Book online through Halaxy
Telehealth appointments use electronic information and communication technologies to deliver services to an individual at a different location. Clients who book a Lifestyle PeriMenopause consultation are consenting to the provision of health care services by Lifestyle PeriMenopause via Telehealth.
The benefits of a Telehealth consultation are that clients do not need to physically travel to the consultation location and therefore can access specialised care which may not otherwise be easily available to them.
